"The Time Of My Life" is Diahann Carroll's first CD in a few years. When you hear "I Concentrate
On You," you know the wait was justified. Diahann is in top form with her sultry and intimate
styling, but beyond that, her tonation and timing is impeccable. The tracks on this CD were
chosen to give you a sense of feeling soft and sentimental, yet you do hear swinging cool jazz
 throughout the album.

With the tune "Someone To Watch Over Me" you can hear the honesty behind Diahnn's tenderness.
She swings right along with ""What Did I Have That I Don't Have?" with Mike Renzi and his group.
Two of my favorite Kurt Weill tunes, "September Song" and "Here I'll Stay," add more lasting
appreciation to Weill's work. Also given excellent readings are tunes by Ellington, Sondheim,
 Billy Strayhorn, and Leon Russell.

The lyrics by Lee Adams on "Once Upon A Time" should be should be a prerequisite for life. What
better teacher than MS Carroll? It is a lesson in life set to the music of Charles Strouse.

Harry Allen on tenor sax displays compatable maturity without ovepowering anyone else.
Grammy Nominee, Mike Renzi, does a masterful job of arranging and is especially creative on
 keyboards.

This CD is virtually a perfect marraige between voice and music. You feel that Diahann had
a great time making this album.
